Dr. Benkert is the Inaugural Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Student Success at Colorado State University Pueblo where he supervises the Honors and Leadership programs, the Center for Teaching Learning and Leadership, Career Center, Trio Programming, Advising, and Tutoring programs. Stuart has designed leadership and legacy leadership learning programs for universities and corporations in the South and Southwestern United States. Also an academic executive coach, Dr. Benkert assists university staff and faculty with achieving their professional aspirations in executive administration. A teacher and full professor with over thirty years’ experience, he has provided positive educational experiences for students of all ages and backgrounds from kindergarten through Doctoral programs. Though he began as a music teacher and band director, his portfolio of courses has expanded to include music and music performance, educational psychology, cognitive behavior, educational leadership, and research methods. Dr. Benkert served as a member of the Tennessee Team for Complete College America and as a collegiate success advisor for two state senates. Stuart is also a success-based funding consultant for universities and colleges across the nation. At his previous institution, Stuart served as Director of Complete College and Student Success, Assistant Provost for Student Success, Interim Head of Economics, and Head of Performing Arts. Though his professional career is in higher education, Dr. Benkert is passionate about youth leadership development. He presents leadership workshops for Title I high Schools in Texas, Illinois, and New York and explores foundational leadership principles with youth groups such as marching bands, athletic teams, and civic youth programs. As a private academic coach and counselor Dr. Benkert has successfully placed high school students in Harvard, Stanford, UCLA, Cal-State Berkeley, and various collegiate honors programs around the country.
